How do you use a whetstone for wood carving tools?

  1. Place the whetstone in a basin and add water until it is completely submerged.
  2. Let the stone soak for 10-15 minutes until no more bubbles rise and it has completely absorbed the water.
  3. Remove the whetstone. Hold your tools at the correct angle and carefully slide them back and forth in the corresponding groove. Triangular and round chisels can be sharpened in the convex areas of the whetstone.
  4. Clean the tools thoroughly to ensure a sharp blade.
