Products

Lime wood is particularly soft, uniform, and easy to work with—ideal for beginners. Stone pine and alder are also very popular for carving projects.

For beginners, we recommend basswood and Swiss pine, as these
wood types are easy to carve. Harder woods like oak are more suitable for
advanced carvers.

Yes, as it is a natural product, slight variations in size, color, or grain, as well as minor edge damage, may occur. Additionally, it is not always technically possible to cut carving wood at a perfectly precise angle. These characteristics are due to the material and are not a defect in quality but are typical for real wood.

Yes, all woods are natural and ideal for carving,
oiling, staining, or further processing.

Yes, our wood is carve-ready and immediately usable. It has an optimal residual moisture content of approx. 10–13%, which makes it ideal for processing while remaining dimensionally stable.

Occasionally, machining marks from the CNC router or natural variations in the wood grain may be visible. These are sometimes mistakenly thought to be glue joints.

When carving, these superficial marks are usually completely removed and are no longer visible on the finished workpiece.

Yes. Our carving blanks are made exclusively from solid linden wood. We do not use glued wood pieces for our blanks.

Carving blanks are pre-shaped pieces of wood that make it easier for you to get started and save time. Ideal for beginners and quick projects.

For beginners, the right combination of wood and tools is crucial. Soft woods such as basswood or Swiss stone pine are best, as they are easy to carve and allow for a clean cut.

For carving knives, we recommend a small, sharp carving knife (e.g., a straight detail knife) for precise work. A spoon knife (hook knife) can also be useful if you want to carve spoons or round shapes.

For the easiest start, complete carving sets are ideal. These already contain coordinated tools, suitable carving wood, and often additional accessories. This way, you can start right away without having to worry about choosing the right items.

Yes, our carving knives are sharp and ready to use. For consistently clean cuts and safe work, the knives should be regularly resharpened or honed – ideally with a leather paddle (stropping leather) and whetstone.

Wood is a natural product that grows over many years under varying conditions. Therefore, variations in color, grain, and structure are completely normal and unavoidable. Small knots, slight discolorations, or fine cracks may also occur.

We sort our wood as carefully as possible to offer you consistently high quality. Nevertheless, natural differences cannot be entirely avoided. These characteristics are not a defect in quality, but rather a sign of genuine, grown wood, making each piece a unique item.

For beginners, simple and easy-to-control carving projects are particularly suitable. These include small figures, spoon blanks, simple animals, or shallow reliefs. These projects help you develop a feel for the material and the correct handling of the carving knife.

Pre-made carving blanks are particularly recommended, as you can work directly with the shape and don't have to start from scratch. This way, you achieve visible results faster and stay motivated.

It is important to start with soft woods such as basswood or Swiss pine and to practice simple cuts first. With increasing experience, you can then approach more complex projects and detailed work.

Yes, many of our products are also suitable for children and families – especially simple carving sets, soft woods like linden, and pre-prepared blanks. These allow for a safe and easy introduction to carving.

However, it is important that children only work under adult supervision and use age-appropriate tools. Carving knives are sharp and should always be used responsibly.

For beginners, we recommend simple projects and safe accessories so that children can learn how to handle wood and tools step by step.

👉 In our category "Carving for Children" you will find specially selected products for a safe start.

Our oak blocks come from parquet or strip parquet wood. They are sturdy and well-suited for craft and DIY projects. Their shape makes them easy to further process and use individually.

Our oak blocks are made of real parquet or strip parquet wood and are not industrially finely sanded. This preserves the natural wood structure. For transport and storage, the blocks are fixed with easily removable adhesive tape. Any residues can be removed if necessary.
