Alder wood blocks – 60 mm – rough sawn

These 60 mm thick alder wood blocks provide a solid foundation for more demanding carving projects. The rough-sawn material can be flexibly shaped and is well suited for freeform carving, figures, and decorative woodwork.

Alder wood is among the softer hardwoods. Precise cuts and clean contours are possible with sharp tools. The fine, even grain ensures pleasant working and a smooth finish after sanding. Thanks to its stable drying process, the wood remains largely free of cracking and warping.

Areas of application:
Figures, heads, reliefs, smaller sculptures, decorations

Hardness:
Lower end of the hardwood range – recommended for users with some experience.

Surface:
Saw-cut, intended for individual further processing.
