Alder wood boards – 25 mm thick
Alder wood, 25 mm thick, is well-suited for precise carving and woodworking. Its fine, even grain allows for clean cuts and smooth surfaces. The light to reddish color gives finished pieces a natural, warm look.
Alder wood is among the softer hardwoods. It is easy to work, but reacts sensitively to imprecise tool handling. Due to its stable drying process, it largely retains its shape and is less prone to cracking.
Typical applications:
Figures and reliefs, decorative pieces, smaller everyday objects, model making.
Hardness:
In the lower range of hardwoods. Suitable for users with some carving experience.
